The Unbalance Lab
The Unbalance Lab
Help your robot friend escape the lab by solving energy-based puzzles and overcoming obstacles. The fate of your robot lies in the balance!
About the Game:
Our second entry for Gamedev.js Jam 2025, built around the theme "Balance." The game features puzzle-solving mechanics where timing, precision, and energy management are key to progressing through each level of the lab.
How to Play:
-
Move: Use WASD or Arrow Keys to move your robot.
-
Activate/Deactivate Totems: Press Spacebar to interact with the energy totems scattered throughout the lab.
-
Energy Management: Each totem alters the robot’s energy. Too much or too little energy prevents you from passing doors with exact energy requirements, and energy is also needed to clear obstacles.
-
Energy Wall (Red): Blocks your path until the red totem is activated. Once activated, the energy causes the red wall to retract into the ground, clearing your way.
-
Energy Wall (Blue): Functions similarly, requiring the blue totem to deactivate it and allow you to pass.
-
Energy Requirement: To deactivate an energy wall, you need to have activated a certain number of the corresponding totem (either red or blue). If you don’t have enough energy, the walls will remain in place, preventing you from moving forward.
-
Gameplay:
The core mechanic revolves around balancing the robot’s red and blue energy. Each energy totem adds or removes energy from the robot, and you must manage it carefully to pass through doors and obstacles. Activate the right combination of totems to balance the energy and deactivate obstacles that block your path.
